Gmail is awesome

- If you have multiple email address from free email providers, it gets hard to keep logging in and out to check your email all the time. I used to use yahoo mail all the time, but with Gmail giving pop3 access free, I have switched to Gmail. I am continued to be impressed with what Google brings to the table in terms of features and ease of use.

Here's how I setup my email accounts with Gmail. I use a main personal email address, which I give to only close friends and family. I keep this as the main account, so it becomes my default permanent address., so I set this up with my name ex: alex_personal@gmail.com

Next I set up other email addresses, for different uses. One for signing up for accounts, with possible flow of spam : alex_pfs@gmail.com., and so on. So I could set up 5 different email addresses, with one of them being a primary address and then I set up the other 4 in the main email, as pop3 address. So I get email from all the other ones in the same email boxes.

All this can be done from : Gmail: Settings - Accounts and Imports tab.

Once I do this, next, I setup labels for each of the emails and we are done.

To add more color, start using themes for the inbox. Set the theme to random to change it to a different one each time you log in.

you can also download the mail notifier :
